The Clean Air Act (CAA) establishes a number of permitting programs designed to carry out the goals of the act. Some of these programs are directly implemented by EPA's South Central Region (Region 6), but most are carried out by the Air Quality Bureau (AQB) of the New Mexico Environment Department.

Upcoming scheduled community meetings
Join the EPA for an open house meeting on Ethylene Oxide (EtO) risk in Santa Teresa, NM on November 1, 2022.
EPA is conducting an open house meeting with the community of Santa Teresa, NM to share information about EtO emissions from the Sterigenics Santa Teresa facility (located at 2400 Airport Rd in Santa Teresa, NM 88008).
During the session, representatives will be available to discuss health risks associated with EtO, and EPA actions to address these risks. The session will be conducted in an open house format to allow for individual discussion, questions, or conversation in a small group. EPA staff and other experts will be placed at tables throughout the room, organized by topic.
