Version 20241115 of RSIG3D includes the following features, enhancements, and fixes:
- Ported the Windows version to 64-bit.
- Added the ability for users to define preferences (colormap and data range) for loaded datasets.
September 5, 2024
Version 20240905 of RSIG3D includes the following features, enhancements, and fixes:
- Added support for TEMPO L3 variables.
- Made a vertical_column_sum pseudo-variable available for TEMPO L2 and L3 NO2 products, which is the arithmetic sum of the vertical_column_troposphere and vertical_column_stratosphere variables.
July 2, 2024
Version 20240702 of RSIG3D includes the following features, enhancements, and fixes:
- Added the option to display a spatial scale reference in 2D viewing mode.
June 10, 2024
Version 20240610 of RSIG3D includes the following features, enhancements and fixes:
- Added public access (no key needed) to TEMPO Version 3 data, which is available from May 13, 2024 onward. Mini-release and TEMPO Science Team access is still available for earlier dates.
February 7, 2024
- Added early access to the mini-release of unvalidated TEMPO (Tropospheric Emissions: Monitoring of Pollution) satellite data.
December 6, 2023
- Added support for Pandora spectrometer sites.
- Added support for TEMPO (Tropospheric Emissions: Monitoring of Pollution) satellite data (currently restricted to TEMPO Science Team members only; this restriction will be lifted when TEMPO data becomes public in April, 2024).
- Added 2018 and 2019 CMAQ EQUATES (Community Multi-scale Air Quality-EPA Air QUality TimE Series Project) data.
- Added Panel display for easily comparing point data to swath data (still under development).
- Expanded AQS (Air Quality System) data source to include black carbon.
- Minor bug fixes.
September 13, 2022
- Expanded access to High Resolution Rapid Refresh (HRRR) data to include vertical wind layers, water vapor, and total water vapor column.
- Fixed an issue that caused saved MPEG animations to be invalid on certain systems.
- Other minor bug fixes.
April 28, 2022
- Added the ability to read and display local or remote CMAQ files.
- Added the ability to time-aggregate certain datasets to local standard time.
- Added new colormaps.
- Added usage tips popup in RSIG3D.
- Modified default user options in RSIG3D.
- Fixed a bug that affected the display of METAR wind data.
- Fixed a bug in swath library code that processes satellite data.
- Fixed a bug pertaining to the displayed geographic coordinates of probed data.
- Other minor bug fixes.
December 9, 2021
- CMAQ Atmospheric Modeling and Analysis Division (AMAD) data has been replaced with EPA Air QUality TimE Series Project (EQUATES) data. The EQUATES data includes Continental United States (CONUS) and HEMI (northern hemisphere domain) for 2002-2017.
- Modified RSIG3D to allow users to specify desired CALIPSO Level-1 and Level-2 science data product versions, consistent with NASA-Langley data processing.
- Added option to display high-resolution boundary lines for U.S. states.
- Added 2018 FAQSD data.
- Windows version is signed with an extended validation (EV) digital certificate.
- Added option for regridding (interpolating) data onto regular lat/lon grids.
- Optimized stereographic option for viewing CMAQ hemispherical grids.
- Reduced RSIG3D memory requirements.
- Fixed bug pertaining to Air Quality Index (AQI) color maps.
- Other minor bug fixes.
January 21, 2021
- Added the ability to filter TROPOMI data by the maximum cloud fraction.
- Fixed an issue that caused a delay when RSIG3D is launched.
- Updated the timestamp format when using non-hourly time bases.
November 2020
- Added High Resolution Rapid Refresh (HRRR) model wind data.
- Added time-aggregated TROPOMI data products.
- Added 2017 FAQSD data.
- Added the ability to acquire and visualize data using different time bases (e.g. hourly, daily, monthly).
- Updated the spatial weighting algorithm for data regridding.
- Added the ability to compute spatial means within a user-defined bounding box.
- Improved the rendering performance of satellite true color imagery.
- Improved the algorithm that determines which TROPOMI data files contribute to a user-defined spatial bounding box. This information is provided by RSIG3D as metadata that is valuable to users for post processing.
- Added new colormap options.
- Fixed an issue that caused map lines to be misregistered when using Lambert Conformal Conic projection.
