EPA Finalizes the 2024 Revised Primary Annual Particulate Matter (PM2.5) National Ambient Air Quality Standard (NAAQS)
February 7, 2024 - The EPA promulgated a revised primary annual PM2.5 NAAQS, strengthening it from 12.0 micrograms per cubic meter (μg/m3) to 9.0 μg/m3; retained the existing 24-hour PM2.5 standard at 35 μg/m3; retained the existing 24-hour PM10 (coarse particle) standard at 150 μg/m3; and retained the current suite of secondary PM standards.
