The EPA may delegate the authority to implement and enforce certain federal regulations to state agencies and local air pollution control authorities. NSPS (in 40 CFR part 60) and NESHAP (in 40 CFR parts 61 and 63) establish nationwide requirements to control emissions of air pollution from a wide range of commercial and industrial activities.
