Description

The U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) and EPA Region 5 will host a virtual workshop addressing the impact of power outages on water systems. The workshop is aimed at professionals from drinking water and wastewater utilities as well as their response partners (e.g., electric utilities, emergency management agencies) in Indiana, Michigan, and Ohio. It will feature presentations from regulatory agencies and utility representatives to share strategies for improving preparedness, response, and recovery from power outages. Key topics will include backup generator requirements, funding for addressing power vulnerabilities, and tools and resources for power resilience.
