Public Notice: Proposed UIC Permit for Willow Development Project, North Slope, Alaska
Summary
EPA is proposing to issue a Class I Underground Injection Control (UIC) permit that would allow the applicant, ConocoPhillips Alaska, Inc., to inject non-hazardous fluids at the Willow Operations Center Pad within the Bear Tooth Unit in the National Petroleum Reserve on Alaska's North Slope.
Injection would occur in up to three wells at a depth of approximately 10,000 feet below ground. The permittee would be required to meet EPA’s regulatory requirements for construction, operation, integrity testing, and data reporting.
