Determining a facility's latitude and longitude
A facility subject to the risk management program requirements in 40 CFR Part 68 must specify its latitude and longitude coordinates in Section 1.5 of the risk management plan (RMP). What tools are available to accurately determine a facility’s latitude and longitude?

1.5. i. Lat/Long method: Either I3 (Interpolation – Satellite) or I4 (Interpolation – Digital Map Source) depending on whether the user selects ‘Satellite’ or ‘Map’ in the map tool
- 1.5. j. Lat/Long description: The spot on the map that the user selected (e.g., the center of the facility)
- 1.5. k. Horizontal accuracy measure (m): 40
- 1.5. l. Horizontal Reference Datum Code: 002 – North America Datum of 1983
- 1.5. m. Source map scale number: Not required; this information must only be supplied if the user chooses I1 (Interpolation – Map) or I2 (Interpolation – Photo)
