Public Notice: EPA Begins Five-Year Review of Rockwell International Corp., Allegan Plant
Summary
The U.S. Environmental Protection Agency is conducting a five-year review of the Rockwell International Corp. (Allegan Plant) Superfund site, at 1 Glass Street in Allegan, Michigan. The Superfund law requires regular checkups of sites that have been cleaned up – with waste managed on-site – to make sure the cleanup continues to protect people and the environment. This is the fourth review of the site.
EPA’s cleanup of the site included:
- Excavation and off-site disposal of soil and pond sediment.
- Building structures and infrastructure.
- Placing deed restrictions on land use, to limit disturbance of the site.
More information is available at the Allegan Public Library, 331 Hubbard St., and at Rockwell International Corp., Allegan Plant. The review should be completed by April 24, 2025.
The five-year review is an opportunity for you to tell EPA about site conditions and any concerns you have.
