November 2024
- A new tool, the Demographics Proximity Tool (ProxTool), is now available. The ProxTool includes data from the 2020 Decennial Census and the Census’ American Community Survey (ACS) 5-year averages for 2018-2022. The new tool can be downloaded from the Demographics Proximity Tool page.
September 2024
- A new tool, the Block Check Tool, is now available. Starting with HEM4.2, the 2020 Block Check Tool is available to assist users in determining the locations of HEM model receptors to remove from the Census files, move to a different location, or add to the Census files. The new tool can be downloaded from the HEM download page.
June 2023
- Updated the Air Pollution Exposure Model (APEX aka Trim Expo-Inhalation) to version 5.2. The new installer can be downloaded from APEX download page. This installer includes the APEX executable, User's Guide, an "Introduction to APEX," Fortran source code, input files and an example application. Updates in this version (which did not affect model results) included clarifications in User's Guides and updates to error messages.
March 2023
- Updated the human exposure model (HEM) to version 4.2. Details of the update are provided in the HEM4.2 Model Change Bulletin. The toxicity values files were also updated. The new files can be downloaded from HEM download page; an updated HEM4.2 User's Guide is also available.

- Updated the multi-facility version of the HEM-3 model (to version 1.55) to include an option to use an acute high value other than the default maximum. The single-facility HEM-3 version is unchanged. Also updated the nationwide 2010 Census files for the HEM-3 model with some Census block internal point locations revised to reflect population distribution and with some additional receptors for residences. The new files can be downloaded from the HEM download page.

- Updated the HEM-3 model to include the latest version of AERMOD (v18081), and to correct an error in HEM-3 associated with buoyant line sources. Also updated the nationwide 2010 Census files for the HEM-3 model with some Census block internal point locations revised to reflect population distribution, and updated the toxicity value files to reflect the most recent acute and chronic chronic dose-response values. The new files can be downloaded from the HEM download page.

- Provided a new option for installing TRIM.FaTE in stand-alone mode. This is available on the TRIM Download Page. Also augmented the TRIM.FaTE Public Reference Library to include chemical-specific parameter values for cadmium, arsenic and seven additional polynuclear aromatic hydrocarbons: 2-methylnaphthalene, 7,12-dimethylbenzo[a]anthracene, acenaphthene, acenaphthylene, benzo(ghi)perylene, fluoranthene and fluorene. The library and associated documentation are available on the TRIM.FaTE Download Page.

- A version of TRIM.Risk for probabilistic exposure response functions (TRIM.RiskHuman Health-Probabilistic) has been developed and applied in the 2007 ozone NAAQS risk assessment. Although this version is not yet available in generic form for easy use in other applications, the version used in the 2007 ozone NAAQS risk assessment is available and is described in the application user's guide on the TRIM.Risk Download page.
- The analyses performed as part of the 2007 ozone exposure, risk and impact assessments for vegetation are now available, with accompanying documentation.

- EPA has updated the HEM3 model to Version 1.1.0. The new version includes the ability to run both the ISCST3 and AERMOD air dispersion models. Updated census and meteorological data and a revised users guide are also provided.

- Volume 3 - "Community Scale Assessment" - of the Air Toxics Risk Assessment (ATRA) Reference Library is now available. This volume builds on ATRA Volume 1 to describe how to evaluate and reduce cumulative air toxics risks at the local level; it also discusses other risk factors that may affect communities, and strategies to reduce those risks.

- A correction has been made to HEM-Screen, version 2003, beta and the corrected model has been posted on the HEM Download page. The error, discovered in March 2006, was associated with its use with 20 counties in Illinois and a single county in Oregon and Oklahoma.
