Third-Party Certifications
Thank you for visiting the Third-Party Certifications page for EPA's Super Emitter Program. EPA established the program as part of its final rule to reduce methane and other harmful pollution from oil and natural gas operations. The status of third-party applications is listed below. In the future, this page will host the names and third-party notifier IDs for all third parties that have been certified to provide EPA with data on potential super-emitter events. The criteria for submitting applications can be found in the final rule and in the Code of Federal Regulations.
If you have any questions on how to submit information, please submit them to [email protected].

Super Emitter Webinar - June 25th, 2024
This webinar focused on the use of advanced methane detection technologies (satellite, aerial, and mobile monitoring) to find super-emitter events. It also will cover the process for applying to have detection technology approved for use under the program and the process for becoming certified to submit information. The webinar also discussed how third parties will provide super-emitter information to EPA and how the Agency will process and review the data prior to notifying owners or operators of a potential super emitter event.
