The U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) Region 10 announced today that all burn bans issued for Indian Reservations in the Pacific Northwest have been lifted due to improving air quality conditions. The burn bans were issued beginning December 6, 2005 as air quality conditions began deteriorating.
As a result of EPA’s decision, all burn bans are rescinded effective immediately for all Indian Reservations in Idaho, Washington, and Oregon. Air quality conditions have improved and are expected to remain as such for the foreseeable future.
Please call 1-800-424-4EPA and ask for the FARR Hotline or visit the Federal Air Rules for Reservations (FARR) website.
