EPA ISSUES ERRATA SHEET ON 1996 TOXIC RELEASE INVENTORY
The Office of Pollution Prevention and Toxics has issued an errata sheet to correct errors in Chapter 9, Toxics Release Inventory (TRI) Data for Electrical Equipment, of the 1996 TRI Public Data Release issued on June 18. Due to a reporting error from a single company and the misidentification of its SIC code, several of the charts, including Table 9-1, Summary of TRI Information by 4-Digit SIC Code, and Table 9-3, TRI On-site and Off-site Releases (both in rank order according to SIC code) contain inaccurate data. The correction by the company of these reporting errors has resulted in the Printed Circuit Boards industry (SIC code 3672) moving from first place on the electric equipment sector ranking to ninth place for on-site and off-site releases.
