NEWS MEDIA ADVISORY:
WHY: To release the Final EIS/EIR on government agencies' preferred plan for dredged material disposal in the San Francisco Bay Area for the next 50 years. Many organizations, including government agencies, fishing and navigation interests, environmental groups, and the general public, helped create the plan. Written comments on the Final EIS/EIR are invited, through November 16. Fact Sheets, an Executive Summary, and copies of the Final EIS/EIR will be available at no cost.
WHEN: 10:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m., Friday, October 9
WHERE: California Room, ground floor, 75 Hawthorne St., San Francisco (Hawthorne St. is parallel to, and lies between, Second and Third Streets, south of Market.75 Hawthorne is on the block between Howard and Folsom Streets.
WHO: Senior officials from the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency, the San Francisco Bay Conservation and Development Commission,the San Francisco Bay Regional Water Quality Control Board, and the State Water Resources Control Board.
