CHICAGO (Feb. 22, 2005)
WHAT: U.S. Environmental Protection Agency Acting Administrator Steve Johnson will meet with Illinois coal mining officials tomorrow to discuss how the proposed Clear Skies legislation will help bring cleaner air to their community and the state.
WHO: EPA Acting Administrator Steve Johnson, United Mine Workers of America International Board Member Gary Butler and Freeman Energy Corp. President Walter A. Gregory.
WHEN: Wednesday, Feb. 23, 3 p.m.
WHERE: Freeman Mine Co. Crown III Pit. From Springfield, take I-55 south to Farmersville exit (the 72-mile marker). Take the exit road west toward Girard. Mine is south of the road on the border of Macoupin and Montgomery counties.
