What: News conference, signing of permit for flood control
levee repairs for 35 farmers, and launching of 400-acre
tidal marshland restoration project. News media tour
of marshland restoration site and flood control levees
will follow.
Where: Viansa Winery, 25200 Arnold Dr. Highway 121, south of
Sonoma, north of Sears Point Raceway. From San
Francisco, take 101 north to Sonoma
exit/Highway 37, then take 37 to Sonoma exit/Highway
121. Continue north on 121 to Viansa Winery.
When: Friday, June 2, 10:30 a.m.
Why: This event marks the launching of a major flood
protection project and one of the Bay Area's biggest
marshland habitat restoration efforts to date.
