EPA awards Arkansas nearly $1 million for water pollution program

(Dallas, Texas – December 18, 2008) The Environmental Protection Agency has awarded $950,000 to the Arkansas Department of Environmental Quality (ADEQ) to plan and implement a comprehensive water pollution program. The ADEQ program will monitor surface and ground water and issue and enforce discharge permits. Data gathered from the program will also be used to revise and update water quality standards and their water quality management plan.
