EPA sponsors free training on Healthy Homes for health care workers

PHILADELPHIA (August 6, 2013) - The U.S. Environmental Protection Agency is sponsoring "Healthy Homes for Community Health Workers," a free, one-day training course on Tuesday, Aug. 20 in Wyomissing, Pa.
The class is open to community health workers, health educators, public health nurses, cooperative extension agents and others who work in healthy homes programs or community health. It will be held at the AAA Reading-Berks offices, 920 Van Reed Road, Wyomissing.
The course will provide information and tools needed to teach health care workers how to make sure homes are healthy and safe so that associated health problems will be reduced. The course will provide one-on-one and large group education on healthy homes, provide general advice about specific problems, and be able to recommend techniques and approaches to be taken by families, landlords and other community members.
