EPA, STATE, COUNTY TO PROVIDE STATUS UPDATE ON WESTLEY TIRE FIRE

SAN FRANCISCO -- On the one month anniversary of the fire, representatives from the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency, the state and the county will be on hand Friday morning to discuss activities at the Westley Tire Fire.
Officials will assess the progress thus far, and talk about future activities planned for addressing the remaining portions of the blaze, as well as future stabilization and cleanup plans.

VISUALS: Although much smaller now, the fire continues to burn while a team of 50 firefighters spray foam and water on the blaze and remove unburned tires from the
area. The event will be held on a hill overlooking the fire, which will include view of firefighting efforts, as well as the world's largest excavator at work moving tires.
