1998 PRESIDENT’S ENVIRONMENTAL YOUTH AWARDS
TO STUDENTS FROM 10 COMMUNITIES



EPA Administrator Carol M. Browner and Mickey Ibarra, Director of White House Intergovernmental Affairs, will honor students from 10 communities across the U.S. with the President’s Environmental Youth Awards at a White House ceremony on Thursday, April 15 at 10 a.m. The awards, presented annually since 1971, honor outstanding projects created by students in kindergarten through 12th grade to clean up communities and promote local environmental awareness.
The 1998 award recipients are from the following areas: Hampden, Mass.; New York, N.Y.; Philadelphia, Pa.; Irvine, Ky.; Springfield, Ill.; Covington, La.; Fulton, Kan.; Denver, Colo.; Douglas, Ariz.; and Ocean Shores, Wash.
