FOR RELEASE: FRIDAY, NOVEMBER 4, 1994
CHANGE OF LOCATION FOR NOV. 29-30 MEETING OF PESTICIDE ADVISORY PANEL TO REVIEW PROPOSED DATA REQUIREMENTS FOR
PESTICIDE REGISTRATION
The meeting location for the Nov. 29-30 open meeting of the Federal Insecticide, Fungicide, and Rodenticide Act Scientific Advisory Panel has been changed to Crystal Gateway Marriott, l700 Jefferson Davis Highway, Arlington, Va. The Advisory Panel will review a set of scientific issues being considered by the Agency for revising the data requirements (40 CFR part l58) for registering pesticides. The proposed changes, many of which are already in place in registering and reregistering pesticides, reflect increasing emphasis on health and environmental concerns from the use of pesticides in the areas of exposure to workers, pesticide handlers, neurotoxicity, ground water contamination, and ecological effects. The meeting will be from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Copies of the proposed data requirements can be obtained by calling (703-305-5369/7351) or writing to Robert Jaeger, FIFRA Scientific Advisory Panel (7509C), Office of Pesticide Programs, U.S. EPA, 40l M St. S.W., Washington, D.C. 20460.
