EPA Gets Set to Take Cleanup and Testing Requests from Lower Manhattan Residents

(#02051) New York, New York – The U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) expects to begin taking cleanup and testing requests from lower Manhattan residents through its Web page and its hotline on June 3. The Agency will conduct a two day test of the hotline beginning June1. Assuming the hotline and database systems check out, the Agency will release the hotline number to the public and will launch a major outreach campaign to publicize its lower Manhattan cleanup and testing program on Monday. EPA will use many means to advertise the hotline, including a direct mailing to residents, flyers, Web page postings and through the media.
In addition, the Agency has established a Listserv, which will be used to disseminate information through email to interested residents.
