EPA Awards Over $400,000 to LDEQ for Brownfields

(Dallas, Texas – November 6, 2008) The U.S. Environmental Protection Agency has awarded $406,185 to the Louisiana Department of Environmental Quality to support its Brownfields program. Brownfields are vacant, abandoned or under-used properties with redevelopment potential that suffer from known or perceived environmental contamination. LDEQ will use the funds for its Voluntary Cleanup Program and Revolving Loan Fund.
