HOUSE INTERGOVERNMENTAL AFFAIRS IBARRA TO PRESENT
1999 PRESIDENT’S ENVIRONMENTAL YOUTH AWARDS
Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) Administrator Carol Browner and Director
of White House Intergovernmental Affairs Mickey Ibarra will honor students from 10 communities across the nation with the President’s Environmental Youth Awards at a White House ceremony on Wednesday, April 12th at 10 a.m. The awards, presented annually since 1971, honor outstanding projects created by students in grades K-12 to clean up communities and promote local environmental awareness. Press wishing to attend the award ceremony should call the White House press office at 202-456-7150 for clearance, and should arrive at the White House Briefing Room by 9:15 a.m. on Wednesday.
The 1999 award recipients are from the following areas: Woodbridge, Conn.; Bridgewater, N.J.; Virginia Beach, Va.; Nicholasville, Ky.; Paoli, Ind.; Albuquerque, N.M.; St. Louis, Mo.; Longmont, Colo.; El Verano, Calif.; and Kenai, Ala.
