EPA announces funding opportunities to suppor Clean and Safe Water and Healthy Communities and Ecosystems

The United States Environmental Protection Agency (EPA), Region 4 announced today the availability of approximately $8 million in competitive funds to support EPA's goals of Clean and Safe Water and Healthy Communities and Ecosystems. The five funding opportunities include the Integrated Watershed Priorities Initiative, the competitive portion of the Wetlands Program Development Grants, Water Quality Cooperative Agreements for Priority Regional Projects, Water Quality Cooperative Agreements for Priority Tribal Projects, and Water Quality Cooperative Agreements for Innovative State Projects.
Projects submitted for competition must be located at least partially in the geographic boundaries of EPA Region 4, which serves Alabama, Florida, Georgia, Kentucky, Mississippi, North Carolina, South Carolina, Tennessee, and the Indian Tribes within the Region's boundaries. Each project proposal will be considered for only one of the five competitive funding opportunities and should be a project that can be implemented within a fixed period of time. Electronic and/or paper copies of proposals must be transmitted or hand delivered to EPA by 5:00 pm Eastern Standard Time on or before February 20, 2004. For-profit organizations, individuals, and federal agencies are not eligible to apply for these funds and ongoing program operations are not eligible. |
