EPA awards $50,000 to the City of Laredo to Develop Bilingual Education Video

(Dallas, Texas – October 18, 2007) The U.S. Environmental Protection Agency recently awarded $50,000 to the City of Laredo to develop a bilingual educational video on water quality protection from non-point source pollution. The video will use a previously created cartoon character to teach children about storm water pollution, the Rio Grande's water quality, and the water cycle, in a fun and interactive style. The educational program will target private and public early childhood programs with children ages 3-5.
