Media Advisory: Briefing on Dayton vapor investigation, AUGUST 2, 2 P.M.
CHICAGO (July 31, 2007) - U.S. Environmental Protection Agency Region 5 and Ohio Department of Health will brief media about ongoing sampling and mitigation work at the Behr VOC Plume Site in Dayton, Ohio. EPA will provide an update on the project status and plans to address indoor air contamination at Dayton's Van Cleve Elementary School. The briefing will take place at the school, 1032 Webster St., on Thursday, Aug. 2 at 2 p.m.
EPA, Ohio Department of Health, Ohio EPA and DaimlerChrysler are working on a plan to control indoor air hazards caused by a plume of trichloroethylene (TCE) contamination in ground water originating from the former DaimlerChrysler facility on Leo Street. At the briefing, officials will share recent sampling results, mitigation completed, and outline next steps.
