EPA SEEKS COMMENT PERIOD FOR ENVIRONMENTAL
JUSTICE INTERIM GUIDANCE
JUSTICE INTERIM GUIDANCE
EPA is providing a 90-day public comment period on its, “Interim Guidance for Investigating Title VI Administrative Complaints Challenging Permits.” This guidance is intended to direct the Office of Civil Rights when processing Title VI (environmental justice) complaints that allegedly cause discriminatory environmental and health effects due to the issuance of environmental permits by states. Title VI prohibits recipients of federal financial assistance from discriminating on the basis of race, color or national origin. A copy of the guidance is available from the Internet at: https://www.epa.gov/oeca. Written comments must be submitted to EPA’s Office of Civil Rights, Mail Code 1201, 401 M St. S.W., Washington, D.C. 20460 no later than May 6.
