Absentee Shawnee Tribe Awarded $200,000 for EPA Brownfields Job Training

(Dallas, Texas – August 8, 2008) The Environmental Protection Agency has awarded $200,000 to the Oklahoma Absentee Shawnee Tribe of Indians in a cooperative agreement to assist, develop, and implement Brownfields job training. In accordance with the Brownsfields Revitalization Act of 2002 and EPA Brownfields Program National Guidance, EPA personnel will work closely with tribal members to monitor and ensure a successful training process on a variety of environmental issues.
