EPA and Mother Earth visit Winston Academy
On September 8, 2005, an environmental outreach team from the United States Environmental Protection Agency visited Ms. Darlene’s Pre-Kindergarten - 3 year old class as part of their Career Week at Winston Academy in Winston, Douglas County, Georgia. The class had a special visit from Mother Earth who taught the class the importance of keeping our land, water, and air clean and how to help. The children engaged in fun activities including participating in a recycling race and marching to Mother Earth’s theme song. Afterwards, the class became official members of the Planet Protectors Club and received their own membership badge and a goody bag full of materials to equip the children to be official planet protectors.
